New Delhi, The international medical humanitarian organisation Doctors Without Borders/ Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) India, organised a one day cycling event “Cycle For MSF” on Sunday at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. The event supported by Firefox Bicycles, Delhi Dynamos Football Club (DDFC) saw over 26 teams register and cycle around the national capital as part of the ‘Centurion Challenge’.
“Cycle For MSF wants to build a strong and diverse community of MSF supporters who cycle together to create awareness and help raise funds for MSF. This annual ride aims to create a sense of solidarity among people with MSF and its humanitarian mission,” said Martin Sloot, General Director, MSF India.
Sunday’s event also had another challenge, ‘Mission Brain Bucket’ specifically targeting school children. Over 800 students from 10 schools across the NCR region participated in school art workshops conducted as a run up to the event. The workshops saw the children draw their versions of ‘Dr. Brain Bucket’.Somee of them rode at the event and completed the mission, aimed at simulating the steps taken by a doctor on a humanitarian mission.

Cycle for MSF is an altruistic and brilliant biking experience to raise funds for MSF and is in tandem with our mantra of cycling for a healthy cause.”
“Cycle for MSF is a noble effort and we are proud to be supporting this initiative of raising funds for saving lives.Cycling is a great way to stay healthy and I am doing my bit for the society by standing up for this cause,” said DDFC footballer Wim Raymaekers.
Munmun Lugun, Naoba Singh, Gustavo Santos, Manish Bhargav and Henrique Dinis from DDFC were also present at the event.
