Gaza Inside The War: Two years of war documented day by day by MSF

On October 10, 2025, a ceasefire was announced between Israel and Hamas, following two years of genocidal war waged by the Israeli army against the population of Gaza. Since then, more than 700 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 2,000 others have been wounded, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health, highlighting the inability of states to put an end to the genocide. The Gaza Inside The War project documents two years of war, day by day. It brings together information and testimonies gathered by Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières teams between October 7, 2023 and January 1, 2026.

Israel’s war on Gaza has so far killed more than 72,000 Palestinians and wounded more than 172,000, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza. This war displaced approximately 90 percent of the population. The dismantling of essential civilian infrastructure, including health care facilities, as well as the siege and systematic denial of humanitarian assistance, have destroyed the very conditions for life in Gaza. Independent investigations must be conducted to determine the facts and responsibilities behind the repeated attacks on civilians and the medical mission.

Israel must end its genocide and its siege on Gaza to ensure the delivery of humanitarian and medical aid. People in Gaza must be allowed to move freely, and to benefit from medical evacuation to other countries if needed, while ensuring their right of return.

MSF calls on States, particularly Israel’s allies, to end their unconditional support for Israel. States must leverage their influence to protect Palestinians and enable a massive scale-up of humanitarian assistance, in a context where Israeli authorities have banned, since March 1, 2026, MSF and many humanitarian organizations from operating in the occupied Palestinian territory.
